if u have a number in grams, for example 10 grams, then u would move the decimal place over to the left three times. so 10 grams = .01 kilogram. If for example you had a number in kilograms (like .003 or 100) then u would move the decimal point three times to the right. So that means .003 kilograms = 3 grams, and 100 kilograms = 100,000 grams. A more simplified formula to remember is that 1 kilogram = 1,000 grams. Therefore, if u have 50 kilograms and need to convert it into grams, mulitply 50 by 1000 and u get 50,000 grams. From grams to kilograms, it's easiest just to move the decimal place over to the left three times.
