why don't they give their employees Sunday off, andwhy do they insist on treating their employees like slaves? Wal-mart comes to mind. No Christian holidays off, and even pushing to force people to work on the one day off they get, Christmas!

They just use Christianity to try to look good for customers, but you are right, it is total BS.
I think everything should go back to being closed on Sundays and all holidays. When I was a kid you just knew you weren't going shopping on Sunday, Christmas or Thanksgiving so people could be home with their families and we adapted by shopping- gasp- the day before, and it was fine!

WalMart is awful in more ways than one, but people who need a job do not look a gift horse in the mouth. Almost all retail shops are open on Sunday. Many employees agree to work the weekend, while others will work only one day. The stores are pretty flexible about religious holidays. So, no, most employees are not treated like slaves. If so, they wouldn't stay with a business for 20 years and more.

Most corporations and companies aren't
religious entities. They do business. They may make allowances for the religions of their employees. I grew up in Connecticut where there were still "Blue Laws". Everything was always closed on Christmas. What a bummer if you forgot batteries for a new toy! No groceries available! Bless those who work on those days, I say pay them triple or more! but let them work!

I am always amused when I see people bitching about Walmart's treatment of employees.

Yet anytime a new Walmart opens up, folks just can't wait to get in line to fill out an application. They hire a lot of teenagers, senior citizens, and people with little work experience and skills.

Oh, as to the "Christian". I tend to stay far away from any company claiming to be "Christian". They usually lie, steal, scam.

walmart doesnt claim to be a Christian organization...they are a public corporation (i.e. on the stock market) not a private corp. plus, you dont HAVE to work on sunday...when you get a job with them you get 10work days of vacation (to use as your plase, so you can use them on Christmas and Easter or whatever), plus you pick your own schedule, so you dont have to work Sundays...every corporation is like this.
