You know, at 10, the chances are that she is getting ready for a growth spurt. A lot of times, a kid grows out a little, then shoots up. You don't say how tall she is, or how much she weighs, but another thing to keep in mind is that young girls very often have exaggerated body images. I mean is she actually fat, or is she simply healthy, thinking that she needs to be a size 0? In any event, at her age she really shouldn't be on a real diet. Tell her to cut out sodas and candy. What will help her more than anything else is getting active! Get off the couch, go outside and ride a bike, or play basketball, or anything. Just get moving!!!

she's probably eating out of boredom... maybe you can do stuff with her. like take up a hobby, drive around places, go shopping, etc. arts and crafts could be a good start. so her mind will be on other things besides food. you can also play sports like soccer or basketball. this also gives the chance for you 2 to bond.
hope i helped =]

i agree with alexi but also she can drink 2 cups of water b4 every meal
and everytime she eats fast food or junk food drink 2 cups of water
Also if she doesn't sleep a lot she should. You don't eat when you sleep. And you still burn calories.
And if she likes hula hooping or jump roping that makes you lose weight but it's also fun.
Good luck to your cousin and you too. =)
hope i helped

show her that when she feels she needs to eat to reach for some fruit or veggies instead of junk food. also instead of pop or other sweet drinks tell her to drink water. there are flavored water that she could try and maybe even like. she also should be getting more exercise like bike riding or even walking around the block every day.
