I am 17 weeks pregnant and this is my second pregnancy. At 16 weeks i started feeling movements, which were definate kicks or at least i was certain it was the baby. i had a scan at 4 days ago which showed the baby was fine and healthy, but the last couple of days I haven't really felt any movements that i'm sure of. i just wondered whether at this stage i should be feeling my baby move everyday or whther it's still to small and just luck when i feel something? any advice would be nice, lost twins at 25 weeks in the last pregnancy and not quite sure when i should be concerned. thanx

the baby is still small and has alot of room to move. i wouldnt be too concerned. however if you are worried call the dr let them know your past history and see if you can go in for a fetal heart tone check.
once you get to be around 23-24 weeks you should feel 4 movements every hr. if you dont then you should drink some OJ or eat a cookie and lay on your left side. the sugar should make the baby move. if you dont count 4 movements in that hr call your dr asap. dont wait hours/days w/o any fetal movement before you call.

ive seen to much

I am SO sorrry about the twins. That must have been devastating.

Yes, you should be feeling the kicking at this stage. Try waking the baby up with a radio or TV pressed against your abdomen. Or slam a cabinet door. If you can't feel the kicking for 24 hours, I'd go to the dr.

Since it isn't your first pregnancy you should be feeling movement every day. Perhaps the baby is up while you are sleeping.

I would bring that up with the doctor.

I lost my last pregnancy at 18 weeks and am currently 24 weeks pregnant. I understand what you are going through.

There is no set number. You shouldn't expect any movement right now. Sometimes you'll feel her; sometimes you won't. Movements will increase in strength and frequency as you approach the end of the second trimester then slow down again as you reach the end of the third trimester. Right now, though, it's a coin toss each day how much movement you'll feel.

Just relax have fun- humor is a great and natural stress reducer. I can understand you loss and concern now but honestly worry will not help at all in might even create more problems. Go out stay home what ever you do enjoy yourself and think positive.

You will be all right there is no formula to Mother Nature it is a journey.

Best Wishes
