You are most likely getting ingrown hairs because you shave upwards and not downwards. Always shave in the direction the hair grows, this should avoid those ingrown hairs. I've personally never had a problem down there shaving and even being a guy, the pubic regions are identical as far as the type of hair and skin down there.

I call it the winter style. For the summer I dare a bit more after some dutch courage. If you use the shaving head from the Silk Epil you can still trim it nicely without all these scissor cuts. If your boyfriend/husband has a shaving machine then... use it! He may not want to know that though!

Common guy? Nope. I've in no way obvious a shaved guy in all my years going to the health club, in all places the country when I travel. I might wager it's much less that 5% or even a smaller percent. Although it seems more boys are experimenting with shaving centered on feedback on this discussion board. However typical- by no means. I might suppose any guy who should have pubes and absolutely shaves would get some unusual stares and snickers within the locker room.

Buy some ladies trimmers, you can trim it a couple of different levels and you are less likely to have an accident than with scissors. I started off trimming mine with scissors but I bought a Remington ladies trimmer and its great and doesn't take long at all, plus you don't get that itchy feeling when it grows back.

No. I used to shave on a regular basis but not anymore. I trim the hairs with a pair of scissors.

No, my girlfriend trims with scissors. If you do want to try shaving again, try using a creamy shaving foam or hair conditioner (I know it sounds weird but some people swear by it) Good luck x

i'm sure more people than just you do it.
but i've heard of stuff you can put on "down there" and it'll help keep away ingrown hairs.
also: there's a thing that one of my friends in highschool used to have and it just has a bunch of little tweezers on it that just pull out the hair instead of shaving. and she said it only hurts for the first couple of minutes and then it doesn't anymore, and it keeps away ingrown hairs.

It's okay. I don't like shaving either and I don't think I'd be interested in waxing. Sometimes I'll shave for special occasions with my partner, but for the most part, I just like trimming the hairs shorter.
From my experience with men, most do prefer trimmed and do like shaved or waxed, but if you don't want to do either, it's okay! Men and women want you to be comfortable with your body and confident with your sexuality more than anything when it comes to sexual encounters.
(As for hygeine, having pubic hair actually reduces infections and increases scent which does interest men)

no you are not the only one who does this. i shave around the edges to tidy it up abit then trim in the middle. i have a friend who asked me the same question so we are not alone in the trimming of our down below hair.

I normally shave my bikini line or wax, and use scissors to trim the rest. I doubt you're alone :)
