I have noticed that alot of people have this magnatism. They seem so condifent and so full of life. They are funny and strong people. But when you tell them that they offended you, or ask them to stop making belitting jokes, or whatever. They become agressive, or start deflecting, and are all 'What is YOUR problem'. They say mean things to make it your fault. At that point I realize that they are insecure. How can insecure people seem like the most confident ones out there? Is their over confidence like agression.... trying to be intimidating so people won't cross them?

Since you made the distinction between the ones who are confident and not defensive and the confident ones who get defensive--
The defensive ones are using a defense mechanism called "compensation": they feel they won't be listened to or respected if they act normally, so they act loud & the life of the party, for attention. When questioned, their defense system falls & they feel insecure & so attack.
A healthy outgoing person, if confronted, will have inner respect & respect you back, saying, "Oh, I didn't realize that meant so much to you..." or whatever.

Insecurity is prevalent everywhere. No one is free from that.
Though, as an outgoing person, I will readily admit that some to most of my outgoing nature is to deflect notice of not only my insecurity, but that of others as well. I am an advocate and Idealist Champion, so that comes naturally to me.
A good offense can seem, and many times be, the very best defense. Cliche, but true, in my opinion.
Good Luck and Goddess Bless.

Sometimes the 'outgoingness' and 'charisma' are just a big facade for the lack of self-confidence. Some people who are lacking in self-confidence, though certainly not all, for some sick reason, feel they must cut you down to size in order to make themselves feel big.

Outgoing extroverted people derive more of their identity from others than introverted people, so extroverts' self-esteem is more dependent on the opinions of others.

It's not that they are insecure so much as it is that they can't seem to understand another person's view or that other people have feelings that differ from their own

Maybe they are over the top and always funny because they feel that need to be accepted. I can totally relate to that.
