Well, I actually made the opposite move. I lived in NY C my whole life and moved from there to a tiny upstate NY village.

there are some things that I miss about large city life, like the museums and the hustle bustle of things. But not often enough to entice me to give up small town life and go back to it. I don't miss the long lines at everything, the crowds , the noise, the smell of the subway, aka the electric sewer, or the dirt. Or the expense. It was so much more expensive to live there.
I love recognizing people at local festivals and events, love the peace and quiet of my neighborhood. I love the sound of birds in the morning and crickets at night.

Have fun on your adventure, but I wouldn't trade places with you for anything.

When I was 11, my family moved from a very small town to Las Vegas. It was a HUGE change that I wasn't ready for. I was so lost! It took me a year or so to finally adapt. I was so scared because I wasn't used to seeing all of the different cultures of people. I'm really glad they made the decision to move here though. Now, I've been here for over 20 years and I want to move back to a smaller town. This city has seen amazing growth and is bordering on being overcrowded. I'd like to have a more relaxed atmosphere. I'm planning my move to Pennsylvania next year.

Family worked in oil field. We moved on average twice a year so it was a way of life to never be settled.
Liked the big cities but would tire of them real fast after new wore off.
Liked smaller towns best because more things to do that I liked such as hunting, fishing, riding horses etc.
