Ok so I know I sound like a baby........but I am having the worlds worst case of morning sickness (maybe not the WORLDS worst, but I feel worse then Ive ever felt in my life.

This is my second child so I know the usual cures for morning sickness including toast, bland foods, ginger, blah blah ...............................

but this pregnancy is so much worse all I can do i cry. I am throwing up everything usually an hour after I eat it.

It is Sunday so I cant call my dr to prescribe anything until tomorrow and at this point i feel like crawling underneith my bed and just wilting away.

I am soooooooooo miserable. Any advice would be helpful.

The following diet suggestions may help relieve morning sickness:
•Eat frequent smaller meals, so that you are never too hungry or too full at one time
• Avoid fatty or fried foods
• Keep crackers, bread or toast, cereal, or other bland foods handy. Try eating a few crackers before getting out of bed in the morning.
•Identify any triggers and avoid them
• Make sure you are drinking enough fluids, especially if you have been vomiting. Try drinking in between meals rather than with meals, which some women find helpful.

I wouldn't jump the gun on getting a prescription, this can be managed. You are thinking about being nauseous too much and when you have a full stomach it is easy to turn your cookies which is why it is after you are eating that this is happening. A lot of nausea can be controlled by your mind. It just takes will. If you feel the urge do not give into it, go lay down, and turn a fan on. That usually helps. Ginger Ale is another great help. It will calm your stomach town. Another thing is Mylanta, not only does it cure gas, but it is wonderful for a sour stomach. DO NOT run to the bathroom, Lay down and cool off. If you are hanging over a toilet, of course you are going to get sick. If it is more of a wooziness than an uncontrollable urge to puke, this should all work.

But if it is an uncontrollable urge to throw up, TUMS are great, it's simply you are stuffing your stomach too much, our appetites grow through the pregnancy, unfortunately our stomachs do not. And it has nowhere to go but up. Try eating a little less through the day, like snacking on healthy foods through the day rather than big meals. It is perfectly healthy to do so. The baby also puts pressure on your stomach and diaphragm. I really do not think a prescription is a good idea. Everything that goes into your body, goes to your baby.

I'm guessing it is stress or your eating too much at once. I would really try snacking instead of binging. Hope this helps. I know you are miserable.

I know how you feel, Lizzie! I always get soooo sick when I'm pregnant. I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th right now and miserable like you. Sick all day long.

My midwife prescribed me phenergan and it keeps me from throwing up, although it doesn't make the nausea go away so I'm still suffering from that and STILL don't feel like eating ANY kind of food. But at least I am keeping down what I'm forcing down.

If you are throwing up, your doc will surely let you try some medication. Phenergan will help, Zofran is even better (but much more expensive).

In the meantime....for the rest of this evening and tonight....just eat or drink whatever you can - anything. Maybe Gatorate? It has electrolytes.

Please don't cry because emotional upset will just make you sicker. I know it can be overwhelming, Just lie down with a cold drink, take some deep breaths and try to relax, maybe even sleep.

Ask a friend or family member if they can go out and buy you a pack of Dramamine - over the counter (don't get the non-drowsy formula). You can take 1 of those this evening to tide you over until tomorrow.

Eat saltine crackers and drink flat sprite or 7-up.
I was so sick with my second child I actually lost weight for the entire pregnancy. My Nik ended up healthy though. A 7 pound and 4 ounce 22 inch long beauty.
If you have a craving for ANYTHING at all, give in. I existed on twix bars and Burger King Jr. whoppers for the entire 2nd and 3rd trimester.
Stay very still by sitting or lying down after eating for a half an hour to an hour, since you are throwing it up about an hour after, you may have to stay down longer. That will also help.
Try not to cook it yourself, whatever you do eat, because the smell of the cooking food will make you vomit whatever it is when you are done eating it.
I hope this helps.

Try sucking on a hard candy. Jolly Ranchers worked wonders for me.

My doctor also suggested white mint Tic Tac's, they also helped me a ton.

Eat small meals or snacks frequently. Don't get to hungry, you might not want to eat but having an empty stomach will only make the problem worse.

Ginger Ale is supposed to help soothe your stomach.

Try not to drink alot WHILE you eat. Thats supposed to make nausea worse.

Try to hang in there until you can call your doctor, they will want to know that you aren't keeping stuff down, because lets face it your getting dehydrated, and not getting proper nutrition. I had a HORRIBLE migraine/bout of morning sickness a few weeks back and was just miserable. As you may know migraines come with their OWN nausea so it was a double whammy. My doc prescribed a pregnancy safe pain killer to take AFTER I used an anti-nausea suppository. NOT fun, but let me tell you it WORKED.

Hang in there and Good Luck.

Everybody has their remedies, or then there are the IDIOTS that have to say mean and nasty things just to get 2 points--Pathetic!!

First off, do try to calm down.

Call the number to your doctor's office, and you will be given a number to call to reach the "on call" doctor. Only he should be telling you what to do about this. Anyone on here, while we all wish you well, don't know what's going on behind a computer sccreen.

Call the Dr. ASAP!! He will be able to call you in something from the comforts of his home, and besides, that's why he makes the big bucks!!

You will be on the road to recovery with a quick phone call.
If you can't wait, have someone take you to the ER right away.

Good Luck!

Oh my.....poor gal.

You really HAVE to wait until you can get a prescription.

The great news is that a wonderful drug exists called ZOFRAN. (you might have to wait several days for the script to be approved by your insurance co, because it is VERY expensive normally). It makes you feel like you never had morning sickness. There are other drugs, but they can make you really tired.

Also, stop taking your prenatal vitamins for a day or 2, just til you can talk to your doc. There are some prenatals that don't cause nausea (premesisRx is one).

Also, if you drink coffee or any caffeine, cut that out. Every time I eliminate coffee/caffeine from my diet, my morning sickness gets a lot better.

In the meantime, try to drink some gatorade or pedialyte to keep your electrolytes in balance after all that puking.

Ok first, perhaps you dont have morning sickness? Maybe you have a virus?
When I was pregnant I cam down with the horrible stomach virus and I was throwing up the entire contents of my stomach, I couldnt even keep water down and I was terrified it was harming my baby....luckily it wasnt. but anyway, the only thing I could get down was cold (room temp) chamomile tea which is super gentle on the stomach and also the doctor prescribed me down the phone a suppository...you know...it was a jelly bean thing that you stick up your...um... behind. So the medecine helps you get better but doesnt harm your baby. Maybe go to a pharmacy thats open and tell them you are pregnant and ask for a suppository? Or atleast tell them that you are throwing up all the time, maybe there is a pregnant over the counter thing for morning sickness (if thats what it is)

Good luck sweetie! It will pass, hang in there.

Just try to relax and get some rest. When getting up, do not jump right up put slowly get up and even rest on the bed in a sitting position before you get all the way up. Keep up with your usual remedy for morning sickness and try to wait it out as much as possible until tomorrow.
