Darlin, I agree with you that with the leaps and bounds of technology, some things have suffered. Some people "hide" behind them, some people use them to their best advantage because it's easier for them to communicate that way rather than face to face. I think they're still as social as they should be except that they do it in booths, lounges, coffee shops, etc. and all the time--they have some type of device in their hand so to stay connected to someone/someplace else.
Now writing a letter--actually writing a letter with a pen and a piece of paper and using an envelope and a stamp-------that's something else entirely! THAT is a dying art!!!!

It's not dying... it's just wounded. I think a lot of people hide behind them, but many do not. All these new technologies are just tools, and people can use tools for good (communication, ect.) and bad. (saying things you would never say face to face, ect)

Some are afraid of confrontation others just do not speak well. I think we need a little of both. I think depending on the circumstances one is better than the other.

No, but people always take the path of least resistance and face to face is not that way.

No.
There are many people who love to sit and just chat.
Do you take the time to talk to other people?
Many wait for you to break the ice.

Why don't you ask that question to someone face to face? You're killing the art!

Yes, people don't even smile at one another in public, let alone engage in a conversation!
