OMG do NOT listen to USC chick. you've just found out something amazing is hapening to your life, you dont need to think of anything going wrong unless your doctor says it. An ultrasound will let you know the size, also, your body will put on the necessary weight to keep your baby health. GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!!! (",)

Congratulations on your wonderful news!

There's no way to tell the size of your baby unless you get an ultrasound later in your pregnancy, and even then, they can be off sometimes. I've had 2 ultrasounds and they underestimated the baby's weight by a pound.

A scan can give you a "general" idea, though. You'll be fine. The baby's weight and height is more determined how well and nutritiously you eat during your pregnancy AND also by genetics (i.e. tall or short people run in your family), and not so much by their mother's pre-pregnancy weight.

However, you can get an idea by seeing how much YOU weighed at birth but even then it's not always reliable. I was 8 pounds 3 ounces at birth and none of my 4 babies have been that big. (They were all 6 or 7 pounds.)

When I got pregnant I am 5 foot even and weight 113, I gained 60 lbs and had a 8lbs 11once baby. But the end I could only wear my boyfriend clothes. I'm the smallest in my family and had the biggest. It does not matter what size you are. How big of baby were you and the father? The baby will be between that. I was 6.3 when I was born my bf was 9.3. So you can't really tell too much. The rumor of small girls have small baby's is false.... I'm walking proof of that. I also want you to know I went 2 weeks late and when they went to induce me they said my daughter was going to be 10 lbs, phew thankfully she was just under 9lbs. I pushed for 23mins and it was not that bad.

* I agree with you USC chick just came out of her face and is babbling about what? Not anything to do with your question, some people are seriously so rude*

You don't have any say in how big or little your baby is going to be. All you can and should do is make sure you are eating properly and getting plenty of rest and exercise. Be healthy and you won't have anything to worry over.

Write down all your questions for your doctor so that you won't forget them and cover everything you want to know. Good luck, best wishes and congrats!!!

Ask you mom what you weighed at birth, your baby will probably be very similar.

Congrats!
