Devolved?? No, I wouldn't say so, as most Americans are descendant of the people that those fine 'gentlemen' were persecuting....the Irish that the English were letting starve to death after stealing their land...the Scots that the fine "Lords" evicted from their lands in order to raise sheep for the lucrative wool...germans, french, and a multitude of others who were hounded because their religion was more righteous than was being practiced by the "state" sanctioned organized criminals....oooppss, I mean priests....
Naw...none of the damned 'gentlemen' of Europe came here, they stayed in Europe where the laws were all in their favor and they could treat people like scum with impunity...

Every nation has it's creme de la creme and it's scum of the scum...but America, the wealthiest nation in the world, has a really F-ed up government, sorry to say. I think with new leadership, there is hope...for those with brain cells that is.
It's a lot easier to cop out than to fight to make things right.

Europeans were having continental-scale gore-fests at twenty-year intervals until we ended it by creating NATO. They are theones who stayed behind,who lacked the courage or sense of adventure for a new world. They're left-overs from a bygone era and thank God for that. We are by any standard more evolved than they are,certainly from a socio-political standard. What to speak of our envigorating poular culture,which they can only mimic.
