as a reform movement in the US....was it traditional or conservative? EXPLAIN

Every political party in US (and world) claims to be "progressive" in some way. Saying we're the "stuck in the past" party doesn't really get you votes. Of course progressive just means change, although most people would associate in more with liberalism than conservatism, which usually means returning to formerly existing laws and customs (I could make a long list of Republican ideals that match that). The question is, is that good or not? Matter of opinion and perspective.

Progressivism sounds like it tries new and exciting ideas, however their primary philosophies are stuck in Marx's in the 1850's and with FDR in the 1930's.

Shame too. FDR was a progressive, making change for the sake of change. Now progressives are just stuck in a world over 100 years old.

It's mainstream political thinking right now--where have you been the past 26 years? Currently we are on the tail end of a period of neo-conservative political theology based on regressive policies that we no longer wish to entertain. Our last bout of true progressivism came under the presidency of FDR with the "New Deal".....

Socialism. The Socialist started calling themselves "Progressives" years ago to camouflage what they truly are.

progressivism means dynamic which is against static. so, static means conservatism that is keep status qua
