i'd say it's because of our society. People are always afraid of things that are different. Think back to the civil rights union, or the Holocaust. Minorities are always the target of the majority because it's easier to blame somebody else for something, especially when people don't feel good about themselves. But you know, it really isn't a big deal, the Greek city-state Sparta conducted openly homosexual practices...It was like the common thing for everyone to do.
And you're right it is hurtful. That's why there are hate laws designed to fight descrimination, and organisations to help to. It's all about education. People can't choose their birth origin or their skin colour, and it's the same thing with sexuality.

Trust me, it isn't easy being a gay girl when your best friend calls the teacher you are in love with a dyke everyday. One of my most painful memories. My friends suspicion of my teachers sexuality led up to her attack. No one knows if she is even gay(fortunately she survived). Do you still think it is easy to be a lesbian?

I understand that people have tendency to judge without knowing or understanding... I hate when someone says Pollacks and Irish are drunks, Blacks gangs, Hispanic steal cars, , Italian and Russian mobs, Gay sinners that are gay by choice and it's not natural..... Kills me that people can't understand where we all coming from and can't judge just because of stereotypes.... then again.... I was at Gay Pride Parade in NYC ones and I saw this guy with thongs on and everything was just hanging... and let me tell you... I really have alot of gay friends and I treat them like everyone else... but when I see 40 y/o with hanging balls in the middle of the street I am pissed. Those scream I'm gay I'm proud FU if you don't accept it... I agree but keep it in your pants and act like normal person so you don;t make every other gay person like he/she is a perv who expose him/herself in public.
I got bad rating because I don't wanna see wrinkled balls on the street ? HAAAAAAAAA my gay friends agreed with me that day... It was nasty and put bad rep on gay people... I mean come on... children are passaing by it too....

Because some men find it normal or even exciting to see two s together. For guys, people usually picture anal and get disgusted.
I probably simplified that too much I'm sorry if that offended anyone, that's how I see it but not everyone is like it, only some people.

Generally I don't think they do. However gays throw their sexuality at others and force people to deal with it,witch they can't because most people keep their sex lives personal.
Why do gays feel they have a need to "come out", or have parades with some bizarre behavior? It's like you're saying "I'm gay, in your face, now what do you think?"
If gays were like other people and kept their sex lives to them selves, I doubt anyone would even care what you do in your bedroom.
