Yes, the OT is a bloodbath. However, if you read the New Testament it clearly states that the law of God, which was given to Moses and described in detail in the first books of the Old Testament, was an incomplete demonstration of God's love for the world and for his creations.
In the Gospel books Jesus tries to tell the people, time and time again that God had sent to earth a better solution than all the laws and that's him. Jesus clearly states in the Gospels again and again that He is the FULFILLMENT of all of the laws, and all the OT rules and that the ONLY way people can live a good and righteous life is by depending on God's grace and imitating Jesus. Jesus said time and time again that the law is nothing compared to what God showed us in Jesus' life and teachings, but some of the people he spoke to didn't want to hear it. They happened to be the people with the most political power at the time.
Because the people living in Jesus time didn't want to hear any of his ideas, they killed him. And quite frankly, that's what the Religious Right is doing to non-conservatives, Democrats, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, and anyone who doesn't agree with their interpretation of Christianity today. In Iraq, the Bush Admin. is killing them literally. In America, they are trying to "kill" all ideas contrary to their's by controlling the news media and the airwaves.
So what's the answer to this modern day bloodbath? Get involved in your country! If you're sick of the Religious Right, join your local political groups, join www.moveon.org, give money to the candidate you want to see be President, write letters to the editors of your local newspapers.
STAMP AND SHOUT! Don't be an apathetic victim of these inaccurate ideologies ruling the day. You can't change the world if you don't want to get involved with it.

Oh, for the Love of God! The Old Testament is not only the Word of God, it is the history of people of the time. Like every other time before or since, there were wars and unrest, acts of unfathomable brutality, and unending devotion. The history of any people, whether Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, or whatever, is essentially the same. Grow a brain. Or are you just trying to see how much hate and discontent you can spread around the world via internet? Such mental dwarfism.
Edit: I just read your previous posts. Such a seething, virulent outpouring!

No, the bloodbath has not come yet. Look for it in a theater of operations coming soon. The great winepress of the wrath of God will cause it to flow over Arabia like fire and ice from the sky.

those who oppose God die of their own accord.
God loves humankind, He doesn't want to have to destroy any of us.
He is there for all mankind who are searching for Him.
