That's annoying!
I don't know where you live, but here in Florida you can almost always turn right on a red light unless there are pedestrians

ARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Bad drivers are one of the few things that can get my temper going in a flash. Am normally a very patient person, but, consider this. How to drive is one of the ONLY THINGS IN LIFE that actually gives you an a-z manual on exactly the right way to do it, and yet still, so few can! Idiots! Boy, I really loath when someone pulls right out in front of me just to get into the lane and there's no one in sight behind me. I have to slow way down in a hurry just so they can be first. WHY??? Oh, there are so many things I could rant about when it comes to bad drivers on here, so I better stop before I go too far. I'll close with it's probably a really good thing that I don't own a gun...

Alll these answers are right,
but I think Boopsie (answer # 10) has the best idea.
I agree that its so very annoying, especially when you're in a hurry !!! An extra half minute could mean the difference between getting a green light, or an extra red light down the road, and dozens of more cars that get in front of you. A little setback compounds to a bigger one, seconds become minutes.
To be honest, I've been in both driver's shoes...on a rare occasion, I've been distracted, or looking at a map,
or "too used-to waiting" at traffic lights , and didn't notice the light turned green. Usually I'm the victim of it, but on a rare occasion I've been the culprit too, Sorrrry !!!!! I hate the embarrassment IF I missed the moment of the light changing to green, and people behind me didn't tell me, but are getting annoyed or late for appointments.
Even though its so annoying, its usually best to give a courteous wake-up toot on your horn, not a blaring psycho blast of your horn. I appreciated that when someone "woke me up" Usually its someone else in front of me sitting on a green, and I give them a little toot to wake them up. The next frustration is when they accelerate terribly slow !!! arghhh!!!!!!!!

Its amazing-- want you to do a horn check. They have those Burlington train horns that can be installed.. Then do a horn check.. You don't understand some people cannot walk and chew gum. The person in front of you is too busy smoking a cigeratte or putting on make up or drinking the last swollow of coffee and doin all of this and talking on the cell phone to their mate which they just left 5 minutes ago... People don't drive any more they are too busy doin other stuff.
Because of this type attitude you and I will some day be seriously injured. Well, I didn't see you. I pray that day never comes.....

Probably on a cell phone & not paying attention. Have one better : 4 lane road with no designated left turn only lane, driver ahead of you in left lane has no turn signal on, light turns green & driver pulls into intersection, stops & THEN puts on left turn signal! Now that's aggrevating!

I'd fight it on principle. As someone else said, take several photographs of the intersection to prove that there's no sign there. Bring the picture sent to you with your ticket, as well. Photographs do make a difference. A high-school buddy of father was ticketed for not stopping at a stop sign. The night before his court date to contest the ticket, he ripped the stop sign out of the ground and took a picture. In court he showed the photograph, the judge drove out to the site, the sign was gone, and the ticket was dismissed. I am not advocating breaking the law, of course, but I am saying that the sign is integral to your case. Good luck!

Slow reaction time, not paying attention to the light, talking on their cell phone, fiddling with their radio. Or they pulled up to far and can not see the light has changed so they rely on the driver behind them to let them know to go by blowing his/her horn.

Those red lights last so long that they become involved in doing their nails or reading a map or something and are not watching the light..give them a beep..they appreciate the wake up call..
