*This is NOT a joke. I do this once a month to my dishwasher and I don't have a problem with mold/stink.... I run unsweetened/sweetened drink mix like lemonade or ice-t or Tang through my dishwasher on an empty cycle every month.. The citric acid in the drink mix/ w/ the hot water will dissolve mold/mildew and freshen the dishwasher.... Good luck

Chlorine is the # 1 killer for any mold. If it is black mold it is deadly to humans. There is mold that is black in color that is not black mold but if you genuinely have black mold, be sure to wear some protective gloves as well as a mask when removing it for your health's sake. You can use bleach full strength if you wish to and just wipe it across the mold and let it sit until it bleaches it off and kills it. Another good product is SOFT SCRUB WITH BLEACH and you can rub that right into the parts and it won't scratch the appliance. Let it also set for a bit to really get all the mold. And there is also TYLEX which also has bleach in it, but you will have to read the product's label to make sure you can use it in your dishwasher and that it will be safe. That product is usually for bathroom appliances like the shower. You don't want any product remaining on your machine that can be transmitted to the dishes so run your cycle after the mold is gone for several times.

You need to find out where the moisture is coming from. It may be that that there is a leak of some sort, but very often the causes are more simple. Moisture in the air is natural but when there is too much we get rain. In your house you get condensation. Do you dry wet clothes indoors? Do you use a steam iron? Is the extractor fan working properly in your bathroom to remove steam from your bathing/showering? If the moisture is coming from the outside. eg faulty drainpipes/guttering. Damage to window frames etc then get these things repaired. If the causes include any of the above then try to dry clothes at the laundrette(if that is not an option the open a window if you are drying clothes on the radiator) Also get a plastic clothes 'horse' and stand it in the bath and let your clothes dry in there but try to wring out a much moisture as possible first. When you are ironing if using steam option keep a window open (just a little) If the extactor fan is not working in the bath room get it fixed (you should also set it to run for about 3 minutes min after you have switched off the light.) As for the decoration before trying to use bleach to clean you must get the area dry first, so you must sort out where the moisture is coming from. When you have done that you can affect repairs.

Hi I just bought a condo and had that same problem. I cleaned the dishwasher with comet with bleach and ran it through a cycle. Then I poured bleach in the bottom and put it on the hottest cycle. It worked no more problems. You have o be sure to do a bleach cycle at least once a month to avoid the problem. If you do not like bleach use vinegar. Make sure you rinse your dishes before you put them in the dish washer also.

spray some bleach on the spots, or other from the bathroom ceramic grout cleaner products. After that, after washing the dishes leave the dishwasher door open a bit so that it can air dry out. That is why you are getting the mold...it is still damp in there and you shut it up tight.

Spray some chlorine bleach on the stains. Make sure you have really good ventilation. Run a cycle of just water before you wash anything in it again.

YUK!
AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER DETERGENT SHOULD REMOVE THAT!
It might be chips in the surface. HOPE YOU REPLACE IT AS MOLE IS A HEALTH HAZARD, AND THE HEALTH DEPT. WOULD GIVE A LOW SCORE TO A RESTAURANT WITH THAT PROBLEM!
