#1 offender: Wal-Mart. Some stores are far worse than others, it's as if someone should take those things away from some people who work in these hellholes. My concentration gets interrupted by some idiot hollering for something so seemingly trivial, and many who use PA systems in stores nowdays seem to have no sense of diction or modulation....ignorant and unprofessional sounding to the extreme. I'm not saying that everyone needs to have a voice like a pro DJ, just don't yell and sound like a total ***** or like you have a mouthful of food, making stupid pauses and bellowing so that there is all that distortion!

Not just Wal-Mart, but other stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, ect, anywhere there is a loud PA system.

I'm sure complaining would not do any good as it would probably backfire. I just accept it as the way the world is developing I'm afraid, a small, but a real sign of a trend downwards when people don't obviously care how they sound to others over a PA system anymore.

I hate that! MOST of the time you can't understand what the **** they are saying and damn way! Or they just say the dumbest things!

BUT most annoying is when they announce that child is up front and parent needs to come get them. I mean WTF??? Especially when they repeat the announcement for 10 minutes or more! I'd knock that parent out for not realizing their kid isn't with them. With all the creeps in the world I still don't let my kid out of my sight in the store and she's a teen!

And I agree with you that complaining wouldn't help a bit.

I agree with you regarding PA systems, however, I have not noticed it being that bad where I live. What unnerves me is people making phone calls to a place of business with the TV, etc. in the background to the point you can barely hear what they are saying! Or the caller holding 2 conversations - one with you and one with the person in the background. (As if we can't hear them).

A lot of these stores do have on line questionaires about your shopping experience. It couldn't hurt. I fault the managers.
The pa system should be off limits to anyone other than someone who has been properly trained to speak over a loudspeaker in public.

I know I hate the swithboard operator at the clinic that doesn't have a hint of what she sounds like, otherwise she would have stopped making an asss of herself a long time ago.

Even worse is when they hang up before turning the P.A system off and you get that loud telephone being slammed down all over the store. If they hate their jobs that much they should quit.

i know what you mean. it does get pretty annoying after a while but like you said there is just not much we can do unless you bought a system for them that was quieter which i think is out of the question. well hope you find your answer some how. :) :)

That's one of my peeves, too. The sound level is ridiculous. I haven't complained, either, since I know my comment would be ignored. I'm glad you brought up this annoyance. You get a star.

ha ha ha

you also get this on the 10 o'clock news. The ignoramuses do not realize how stupid they sound. They keep on talking even after the camera has shut down.
Stay smart!

I hope they never stop using ignorant uneducated people on PA systems. It would break my hubby's heart. He loves to go to the desk and have them page our children by using their first names and the last name Magillacudy.

I heard one lady on the PA once at a Kmart who was really pissed no one would help her with the carts, and she had a Chinese accent. I literally had to stop shopping for about 10 minutes because I was on the floor laughing. And everyone who saw me started laughing too. It was hysterical.
