First off Canadians are Americans. They do live in North America.

The reason the the USA doesn't have the same medical coverage as Canada is the citizens of the the USA value their freedom much more then the citizens of Canada.

A short history lesson for you. The citizens of the United States fought a war to gain their freedom, despite losing the benefits of being part of the British Empire. Most of the people who valued their security more then their freedom moved to Canida. The present population of Canida is decended from such people.

the concern being debated right that's financial, no longer scientific. Obama has his financial advisors, and that i think of the AMA has theirs. they arrive on the concern from opposing facets, and the two have a suitable to precise their perspectives. by using ways, i'm hoping Pelosi's suitable. The plan is already watered right down to very nearly no longer something. If we don't have the "public selection," we would besides all supply up and flow to Canada.

It is viewed as socialism to many people in the U.S. even though they haven't heard how the plan would be administered. All they see is taxes going through the roof. I'll keep an open mind until I see what they have in mind. I would rather see some other initiatives to drive down the price of health care first. I don't understand how one injection could really be worth $4,000 after a stroke. A lady on CSPAN this morning said she has multiple sclerosis and pays $1700 a month for 4 injections that she administers to herself, and that isn't including her other medications. Outrageous.

Universal health care would result in poor health care. Have you ever tried to get a doctors appointment in Canada....you may have to wait months to get a simple exam. In America (although it should be better) you have a plethora of doctors and private practices that are out there because they want to help, and most of all gain a great income. If the government were to take control it would even out the money for these doctors and push them to practice poorly.
The bottom line is money. A great surgeon cost money. A great pediatrician cost money.
Imagine if all of the companies paid us the same wages to do different jobs....we would all do crap work because we know we are all going to get the same check...but, if there was a difference on position, education, and years of experience we would obviously do much better (based on performance) Its the same as being a doctor.
If the government were to take over it would be like the welfare system. If you have x amount of kids you get this...if you have x amount of kids you get that.
I'm a single, young man...I would not be taken care of by the government standards because I am not at risk, don't meet a certain age, and do not have children. I would have to meet a certain criteria before I can get certain things. Here in America I pay dearly for my medical expenses, but I can call and make an appointment in five minutes...you can't do that in Canada.
Having been a government employee before you will have to fill out all types of paperwork and use the method of thier choice...the "hurry up and wait method", in which you will have to fill out millions of forms that make no sense and eventually be refused until you get it right....trust me you don't want the government to be in charge of any aspects of your life.
The money we pay is pennies because we can walk in and get health care...and believe me, if they say universal health care you had better believe that they mean univeral taxation, because money doesn't come from no where....it comes from your pocket where you are not physically seeing it from your paychecks

Because Americans in the US are United Statesians while Americans in Canada are Canadians.

Different nations different coverage for their citizens, even though both nations are American nations.

I don't want my health care contolled by the government !

DUH

I work hard and pay for the coverage I want with the provider I want and see the doctor I choose when I want and we decide how best to manage any of my health concerns in an appropriate and timely fashion.

Because in American social structure and culture it is very very wrong to ask or depend on the government.

The civil war never ended - it still thrives today and lives in politics.

American culture, I have noticed, tends to thrive on war, battle and bloodshed and call it "triumph". Americans thrive on divisiveness and chaos, they are essentially addicted to it in entertainment, in politics and in commerce.

Canadian culture on the other hand, being heavily influenced by it's British roots, thrives on civil discussion, on peaceful give-and-take, and in letting government and people work together as one nation, working for peace.

Because the evil Canadian government refuses to provide coverge to Amewrican citizens, like they do Canadian citizens.

So go whine to the Canadian government, why they are not covering Americans.

America provides canadians, the exact same health care coverage that our government provides to our own citizens.

So why doesn't canada do the same ?

They can. The road blocks to a universal health care system are chiefly the HMO's, Health Insurance companies, and politicians that are looking out for the interests of these same very large corporations.
