being who you are, doing what you want and not caring what other think...

What most people would define as normal- would be what is acceptable by society's standards, or basicly- however the majority thinks and acts. But normal doesn't have anything to do with what is the right way, or best way to act. The definition of normal is simply the way the "norm", or majority has chosen to be. This usually leaves the minority feeling strange and different for being the way they are, but in reality, there is no way we are "supposed" to be. We are all individuals. In my opinion, if it weren't for the people who were NOT "normal", and went against society's standards and followed their own way, this world would never progress. We would all just be stuck with people who simply copy and follow. In my opinion it takes more guts to think differently than the majority does. Without these people, this world would never come up with new ideas, and we would never evolve.

Normal is small liknesses in a group that build up to a large stereotype of what an average member of society should be.

There's no such thing.
I think most people's idea of normal is someone/something that doesn't appear to have any problems, like upper class, high society, because they have money, so most automaticly think that they have no problems & they're livin' care free....But, everyone has problems, there's no escaping that.

My idea of "Normal", is someone who had less problems than I do...but in the real world, normal doesn't exist.

I can't because everyone's definition of normal is different. I'd say it's something that goes on in your life often almost like a routine.

i considered this all my life....i come up with the conclusion that there is no normal....there maybe a general consensus of what might seem like normal but that is usually bland and unexciting(hence the previous answers) for me...normal is my personal normal and yours should be yours....its all subjective

I guess the best way that I can describe normal is: something that a large majority does, do, sees, act, believe etc etc.
Sorry but that's the best I can do.

one of the definitions of the word normal is: "of, relating to, or characterized by average intelligence or development or being free from mental disorder " So average intelligence or development must be gauged by some standardized test.

Any set of ideals in one particular culture. What is normal in one culture may be seen as abnormal in another culture. That is what makes Ethnocentrism common in every culture.
