totes are a lot cuter but i don't know if it would be easy to carry around and backpacks are easier to put stuff into. what should i pick? and do you know where i can get cute ones?

okay, look, i am going into high school too, and totes are REALLY in. but, you'll experience really bad back pain cause you'll have more books to carry than in middle school. although it will seem cooler, the results are discomfort [especially if you have to walk to & from your bus stop] & the truth is, totes don't hold that many books. don't follow the trend, would be my suggestion, because people won't automatically be like, "omg that girl is cool cause she has a tote" ... it's unrealistic. you'll pretty much gain nothing out of getting a tote. just use a backpack. one with two arm holes [not like the one-sided ones.. they're just as harmful]. you can get cute backpacks from places like target & "back-to-school places" - it's not a matter of WHERE you get it but what it looks like. so i know you're probably thinking, ew target? only losers shop there, but no one will know you got it from target if you find a cute one.

I carried a tote during my last two years of high school and it was a lot more stylish, but keep in mind that you can't fit as much into a tote. Victoria's Secret PINK has some great ones (that are on clearance right now, actually): http://www.victoriassecret.com, then click on Clearance, then look at the Totes. The limited edition Marc Jacobs tote is great, also, and not very pricey: go to EBay and search "marc jacobs canvas tote" and you can see the different styles. Also try Urban Outfitters (http://www.urbanoutfitters.com) - that should be good to get you started!! Good luck!

if your highschool is anything like mine was, you are going to need a backpack. you don't want to be carrying a heavy tote around will big books all day. even if you go to your locker between classes (which you might not have time for), you are still going to have to carry at least one book (some are HUGE) and a note book and some other essentials at any given time. Let your back do the work!

High school is a bit too much stuff for a tote. You can still find cute backpacks.:)

It depends if your backpack is going to be heavy, if so then I would say a backpack. But, if you're not going to have a ton of stuff then I would say to get a really cute tote (they have really big ones at Hollister), or you can get a messenger bag.

Ya i think that back packs are better personally. totes are cuter but Its easier to carry my stuff around in backpacks.

Backpack, in 6th grade I tried to use a messenger bag and that was too small. In high school I would suggest a backpack.

Most schools don't allow you to carry rucksacks, or totes to and from class.
Try getting a purse that can fit books in it,
I recommend Vera Bradley oversized purses, they are chic and offer a secret area for your books.
