We already know that being gay is not a choice and that was proven in the 1970s (people who still deny that almost 4 decades later are obviously not very intelligent).

And there's a debate about whether its a gene or not and the evidence it stronger supporting that theory, but the evidence isn't strong enough to make it fact.

We know that they've found gay animals:

Although it may be illgeal to clone humans, its still bearly legal for animal cloning in some countries. And since cloning makes an exact copy of that animal in every way with its identical DNA, then surely if they cloned a gay animal and they found that the clone was also gay, then that would prove that it is in the DNA?

Please don't involve God in the debate since that isn't a real argument and this a scientific question, not a religious one.

I was just thinking that since some people claim that its not natural or something that this would shut them up since it would be hard evidence supporting the DNA theory and you can't argue with the facts!

The twin study wasn't a good one because twins are very similar, but not 100% identical (even in "identical" twins, they still have mild differences). However, clones are 100% identical.

Sometimes I think Adam and Eve were supposed to eat the apple.
Can you imagine if they hadn't we'd all be running around naked and horny and humping anything that moves just like our dogs.
He he

Yep I'd say animals are gay because our male dogs well a lot of them anyway would hump us males without any embarrassment.

Cloning may make an exact copy but from that moment on you are two different people and will probably not always choose the same things.

The bad thing about cloning is that you have no real control over the new you because you are stuck in your body not it's body.
Now if it came with a memory and grown and they could transfer you into it then maybe I see more value in it.
But then the world would need some form of population control.
However I don't think I mind them growing parts for people who need them and for research.

Yes, it is very likely the clone will also be gay. Unfortunately this will still prove nothing, since DNA evidence means actually identifying a "gay" gene. For the sake of scientific research, it would be far more beneficial to study the DNA of human beings. This would involve a lot of bloddwork and studying the blood.

Until such a gene is found, the argument will remain unresolved.

It really does not matter if there are Gay animals other than humans or not...does it? The fact remains that there are Gay humans, and a lot of them. This arguement leads no where. I don't care what my dog humps, as long as it is not my company. I do care what I hump, and that is the important esscense of any "arguement." A Straight cannot comprehend being Gay, there is no reason that they should have to comprehend it...it is outside their realm of experience. They are not qualified to comment on "choice" or "genes." It, like animals, doesn't really concern them in reality. Any dislike for a Gay person, other than "I just don't like him/her," is unreasonable....leave it at that. All the bible thumping in the world cannot change the facts. Bibles cannot make the Earth 6000 years old, no matter who says what, and Bibles cannot make everyone Straight, nor should they be. IT is a big world out here, room for everyone. I have yet to meet a homophobe who had any logical basis other than fear for their feelings. You cannot deal in reality when you are working from fear.

twin studies have concluded that it is not a gene, as identical twins share genetic make up. and there have been identical twins reported where one is gay and the other is not.

last i heard, they thought it was down to the conditions in the womb during the second trimester of pregnancy. and this may ofcourse again be down to a gene in the mothers genetic makeup.

a swedish study a few years ago, again concluded that being gay is an invulenary reaction to pheramones of the same sex. i.e. its nto a choice.

I am hoping that being gay is not genetic... since I do not want there to be a "keep your child from becoming gay in the womb" pill. I doubt that a pill could alter one's DNA, but I don't even want to see development in the field. I think sexuality is more than just genes, it probably is made up of more than 1 factor.

Wow! Phrenology and eugenics were proven back in the 1920's so they have to be right as well, i guess.

No there is no genetic link shown for homosexuality. There is a greater chance a gay person comes from a divorced home raised by their mom than to have anyone gay in the family tree.

Sorry dude, but claiming that you can't control whom you have sex with because that's the way you were born is just avoiding taking personal responsibility for your actions.

Certainly one horny male animal will often attempt to mount another male. That is no sign of being gay. The one being mounted pulls away, and often bites the other.
There has never been a case where one male animal willingly submitted to another male, except humans.

There are LGBT animals...it's a given! A clone will also be the same, as it is an EXACT match.
