The highest mountain peak in the U.S. and all North America for that matter is Mt. McKinley in Alaska at 20,320 ft. The highest mountain peak in the contiguous U.S. is Mt. Whitney in California at 14,505 ft.

mt mckinley in alaska. the native name for it is denali, meaning 'great one'. i don't remember the height. seems like it's in the 22000 ft area somewhere.
