It is my belief that magick should only be used as a last resort- to pull out the "big guns"- so to speak. If you think about the amount of energy just floating around out there, it's exhausting! Magick follows the path of least resistance also, and so sometimes things don't always turn out the way you'd expected them to. There are, however, subtle things you can do (besides full-fledged rituals) that may help boost your confidence:
1. Lighting a yellow, green, or white candle. Yellow and green are both colors of success (different trads use the two differently- I, personally, have always been partial to green for success, especially when it comes to finances and business...) White is an all-around "all purpose" candle, and one I like to use for clarity and inner strength, also for balance.
2. Affirmations! Affirmations are performed by finding your inner strength and confidence and projecting it outward by repeating positive thoughts vocally over and over again until you feel confident in them.
3. Prayer- Yes, Witches pray too. This is sort of an affirmation if you think about it that way. You're asking the God and Goddess or Spirit to help you with your task.
4. Carrying a talisman or charm- A talisman or charm, in my opinion, is not magickal at all. It works because you are able to put your faith in something so strongly that results in a positive effect. It is, in fact, merely you giving yourself the power to succeed- just finding a way to physically represent it. Carrying a talisman or charm that you have charged with confidence, positivity, and strength may help you find that inner strength that you already possess- but just didn't know you had. :)

Hope these things help. Remember that everything happens for a reason, so if something happes that you don't get the position- there's a reason.

Blessed Be!

Smiling and being a very friendly, open person with lots of personality. Also being kind and easy to talk to. I guess that's not really a spell, but hopefully it will work just as well (sorry I didnt mean for that to rhyme). Hope that helps and good luck :)

Instead of doing a candle spell to make her behave how you want her to, how about instead doing one with the goal of "The best outcome for your mother"? It might be that the job she's interviewing for would be absolutely horrible for her, and with your "confidence boost" she'd get it anyway and be miserable... Just a thought. I personally have issues with doing spells that affect others, even seemingly "benign" or "helpful" ones.

Just show poise and confinence. I know you can do it without help. Otherwise you will be beholding to someone or something who will not let you forget.

It's called being prepared, doesn't take a magic formula either, just a little effort.

Good luck.

Uh huh!

Spell these

C-O-N-F-D-E-N-C-E and P-R-E-P-A-R-A-T-I-O-N

Then off you go with a glorious exit after that interview of yours.
Wish you luck and advance in congrats!
