I have a HP model a1720n

This is the required graphics card: 64 MB GeForce3-class video card. The game only officially supports cards with ATI (Radeon 8500 or greater) and Nvidia chipsets, and the Intel GMA 900 and GMA 950 products. The GeForce 4 MX is not supported

I'm thinking about getting 3DFuzion GeForce 6200 LE PCI-E Video Card:

I just checked the complete specs and you're in luck, the a1720n does have a PC-Express x16 slot. But do NOT get that card, it's garbage. In fact, avoid any Nvidia card models with the letters LE following the number, those are the worst versions you can find.

For recent Geforce cards: LE=bad, GS=ok, GT=better, GTX=best

For a good budget card, get the GeForce 7300GT- you spend $15 more initially but there's a $25 rebate on NewEgg, so in the end it actually costs less...

Assuming you DO have a pci-e slot on the motherboard, yes that card will work, but a 6200, or any 6 series, is now extremely outdated, the 8 series is out and the 9 series is to be announced within the year. At minimum a 7600gt would perform good out of the box..

For decent performance(medium) I recommend a 7300 gt ddr2(roughly=to a 6600 gt although the (7300gt)ddr 3 version feels like a different significantly faster card) But since you have a C2D I recommend a 8600 gt(high settings) or if you have the money and want high resolution max everything quality get a 8800 gts/gtx/hd 2900 xt(you might as well get another gigabyte and OverClock that C2D as thats the main reason why their better than AMDs as if you don't their equal)

DO NOT EVER GET A _200 SERIES NVIDIA THEY ARE NOT FOR GAMING JUST INTEGRATED GRAPHICS EQUIVALENT OF THE SAME GENERATION.
