The downfall of a certain country, or the downfall of humanity?
If it's the downfall of the U.S, it would probably be over oil.
And if it's the downfall of humanity, it would probably be some damage caused to the earth by a nuclear war.

Technology. It will get to the point where nobody knows how to do anything for themself. Also, the increasing availability and affordability of home entertainment products and the increasing amount of convenience services like food delivery, laundry service, groceries delivery, home shopping, online banking, and even DOG FOOD delivery, will eventually take us to a point where we no longer need to leave the house to do any errands or socializing again. Social interaction will break down. Then the people controlling the big corporations and political leaders will be able to make us their slaves. They already are. We work so much it is hard to have any real passions or interests outside of it.

... I've seen many questions like this, and this time i'll answer it in a different point-of-view.

I think that if we knew what our downfall would be, then it wouldn't be our downfall, because we would do everything in our power to prevent that from happening.

So in my opinion, we aren't supposed to know, and won't know..... until its too late.
