Why do Hindustanis like to imitate the Western culture?

Hello kids.
I live outside of India, but I love my country and my culture. In the last decade or so, I've noticed that hindustanis try so hard to be like the westeners. Why is that? We never dated before, why have guys and girls begun to do that sort of thing?
We used to dress moderately; now girls wear sleeveless shirts and short skirts. Most movies these days are ridiculous, because they try to imitate the western world and it looks horrible.( Remember the movies up till the 70s? they were awesome.) This is not how hindustanis are.
Don't call me old fashioned, because I'm not. We're Hindustanis, and we live a certain way. We're not supposed to try to be like the people from the west; its insulting to our culture.

I understand that others do imitate our culture, and that's nice. But there is no need for us to imitate other cultures.

India has held strong to non-materiality for thousands of years and has been the example of it to the world. In the want to have, they are looking to the west and forgeting what they have stood for in the world community.

I think ur observation is not correct. Adoption of a life style which may or may not form a culture later. These are two different things. LS is pertaining to only one generation or few years where as culture is pertaining to generations or centuries. It's not that only we're only imitating western culture but westerners are also imitating our culture. Every generation is new & there is always a generation gap as we call it which is difference in thinking of two generation people. U know there is yoga classes in UNO headquarters & westerners are adopting to a Vegan lifestyles & Ayurvedic medicines & naturopathy. There are more than 300 yoga institutes in beijing alone. Many westerners are living in India to know more about our culture & vedic knowledge. There are others who are studying Vedic Math. Germans are studying Sanskrit & many others are studying Indian classical music & dance. I saw an interview few days back in Singapore when tow Chinese who were Bharat Natyam exponent & the other one was a Sitar expert & even their names were Indian. So it is both ways but our thinking is limited & hence we can't accept the fact.

The imitation of the West by Indians is because the present generation in India is of a hybrid type. The young boys and the girls are totally confused as to what is right and what is wrong. They have no spiritual education from childhood. Added to this is the passion for overnight-publicity. The so called independent-thinking only adds fuel to the fire. To say the least, the impossible expectations of crazy and ambitious parents from their children makes the situation even worse.

They follow western culture because,that is how they were brought up,with a western culture.The music that they like is probably what they have heard since childhood.I lived in Japan for many years and hated Japanese popular music.I lived in HongKong for may years too and detested Cantopops.I looked down on it because it was so inferior to the real thing.If you have ever watched Chinese movies,you will see just how bad they are,trashy films that are a copy of trashy Western ones.

I have found people who come from other countries and re faring to their own country always remember it they way they lived life there .Some have gone back and found their countries have grown the traditions and language slightly changed it is them that have been stuck . India is fast becoming more influential more money more known world wide it is growing . The younger kids are looking outside religion .They still have the fear of family and cultural shame but now they hide what they truly feel .I have a friend that is in India who is Wicca one that wants divorce but these things are not really done .

It is a tragedy that they are losing their originality. I have lived in the U.S. for 22 years and still love those old bengali and hindi movies and songs. It is not that I do not like western culture because there are plenty of good stuff in west, but these idots are dumping quality indian culture for western trash.

A group of selfish people have arisen now a days. They hesitate even to speak in their mother tongues. They are even ashamed of it.Hindustan is a Land where Purity Chastity and Virginity were cherished and honoured the most. But a very considerable percentage of college-going young girls never care for such greater principles.

Now trhey are in a dilemma : Money Or Moral.?
They have prefered Money instead of Moral .

I read in a popular magazine that some college girls spend Rupees more than 3000/- per month as pocket money with which an average Indian family can be run for a month successfully.

A girl in Delhi earns more than 1000+ U S dolloars ( around 50,000 Rupees ) a day with her flesh.

Even many mothers don't look in to such activities of their daughters.

In big cities like Shennaai , a cell phone and some pieces of Luxury Condoms have become a must for some girl's for their every day use.

In this Computer and Internet era, a considerable number of girls participate in drinks,sex ,dances and parties.

Varieties of pornographic CDs are available in plenty .People use it and change their life -style also according to that.

Many girls dress in a very ugly manner much against the will and wish of the parents .
But parents are afraid to correct them. The daughters blackmail the parents with suicide.

Every thing regarding Culture has gone away.

A certain percentage of women want to expose the maximum of their body to others in public places and bazars. They totally lack good conscience .

young people enjoy sex as a cup of tea whenever they want. Even boys of 15 and 16 years of age need sex and they visit brothel houses.Even girls of 12& 13 years of age go for this.

A Nation can be proud , only according to the percentage of Virgins and Chasty women availbable in her borders and not according to the percentage of money they have ."

Both boys and girls steal money from their respective homes for their such expences.

Many boys and girls beat and thrash their parents demanding money and freedom ( for this ).

Young people purposely choose dresses which would sexually arouse the opposite sex.

Modern films and cinemas pour petrole upon the uncontrollably burning immoral Fire .

The society has morally and sexually been greatly currupted ,and the credit to a great extent goes to the film Industry.

People who come forward to the immoral field very easily earn hands-full fo money and enjoy luxurious lives ..

Sex has become the only means of easy money- making.

There are women and men who act as agents to trap young school -going or college -going girls for this purpose ..

Young men also are well-paid for this.

Many people have become millionaires through this business which doesn't need any financial capital .
The black money to a very great extent is spent on sexual orgies only.

Indian blue- films are much enjoyed all over the world.

People who want to make money easily just jump in to sex business.

Democracy has such a weekness to controle such immoral activities.

I don't want to waste my time any more on this ugly matter.

When you and I are busy with our Yahoo Question and Answers ( during this midnight ) a numberless people are enjoying illegal sex with others especially with othermen's wives.

It is the foolishness and carelessness of the government .
The government should have been very keen ,and very sincere towards this problem.

Bribery has become the Boss for most of the government employees.

1. Films and TVs spoilt the nation to a great level.
2. The irresponsible and inefficient dealings of the government in this regard.
3. the demerit of democracy .
4. The money -minded people .
5 . Good ,tasty and Highly calorific food available in the cities.

8. And only as the last reason can be the foreign influence.
( The Western culture is a " sweet -coated Poison.". Our ignorant people madly follow that . And our Government Mother also just remains passive and inactive towards this .

Can such things take place in a Muslim country.?

In this respect I must appreciate all Muslim countries without any bias.

A good government can eradicate all evil and unwanted things within a year from its borders..( even within 48 hours.)

Any nation which becomes sexually immoral will become weak and perish soon. This is an unchangeable scientific formula .

Dear friend ,let us make Awareness among the Hindustanis and save the nation. Then only Hindustan can become the guru of the world.

hi.very good question.we hindustanis are really imitating them.it is bad.really our culture is best.i think it is becoming a hobby like to copy them.but i think there are some advantages also.like not beliving superstions,giving equal rights to gals and boys so on.bye
