very limited job options for him where we currently live. So while we dont exactly want to move it might be our only option. I have a son from a previous marriage whose father is not going to be pleased if I want to take my son son with us. What are my option as far as custody....has anyone been in a similiar situation?

talk to lawyers and your ex, this type of thing happens all the time, im sure something will work out, it is not self centered, you are trying to provide a better life for all of your kids!

How pleased would you be if he had the child and was planning on moving? Consider the child's point of view and feelings first.
