The truth is easier in the long run, but oftentimes when you get away with a few lies it's easy to keep going, even by accident.
It's not simply the guilt vs. honesty thing that most things will bring up. It's very possible to accidentally tell a lie and keep getting caught up in it. Some people can weave lies together very easily, so they do. It's even subconscious.
For the average person who is not like that, the truth is very simple to tell if you've always done it that way.
It's more of a habit than a conscious decision. It's simplicity is relative.

Depending on what we've done is it on telling the truth. Most often we need to tell the truth. God hates liars. Only if it would hurt some one then I would tell a small white lie. It is hard to tell the truth sometimes because of our guilt, but it always pays good dividends and guilt free conscience,
It is one of the hardest things to do. But we most time will feel the trust in others for our truths. I hope you understand what I am saying.

Much easier than keeping up with a lie. It's the repercussions that may be unwelcome. Many people don't want to hear the truth. And what about when you honestly think you're telling the truth, but are simply mistaken?
