It might work, but I wouldn't trust it.

It looks like nothing more than a cable to convert video/audio signals to USB 2.0, leaving the capturing to be handled entirely by software emulation? I mean, where's the onboard memory- there has to be SOME hardware!

Maybe you don't want to spend $100 for the Hauppage WinTV card or ATI TV wonder, but that looks too minimal- probably just a waste of money. Since these are generic cards, there's no way of getting reviews... Keep in mind that between different brands/models of capture cards, people experience issues with dropped frames, artifacts etc.

Here are some better-looking options below in the same general price range- a couple of external USB models, a desktop PCI card & notebook PCMCIA card.
