my school says I can't use them because they bend the corners on the books so where can I buy paper book covers? I would like the kinds with different designs and things on them.

You could make your own from scrapbook paper, carried at any source for scrapbooking. Plenty of places on the net will tell you how to construct them. You just need paper and glue.

I use paper bags from the grocery store. I cover the book and then cover the bookcover with a transparent lamanent.

There are lots of ways,
make your own with coloured or clear contact, wrapping paper, scrapbook paper or i know you can get them from office suppiles stores depending on what size you are after. if you let me know i can check if we sell the right size where i work. :)
