Ok I have a friend that was my past college teacher and I told her in an email that I hope we stay friends for a long time. She is older than me and I look up to her. Well in her reply email... she didn't mention anything about it... so is that ok .. or if you were her, would you say i hope we do too? I guess what I said was a statement and not a question but still. And I also offered her help with her new baby and she didnt say anything back about that either.. Does that mean she doesn't want these things or that there is no need to reply to that? And we have been friends for a couple of months through email but have done stuff together like gone to lunch and the other day she invited me over to see her baby... which I have also gave her baby a gift before... those are just some extra details. Oh yea and she said she is going to play a spot that we both enjoy and said shes excited to play and is going to get cleared from her doctor b/c she just had a baby.

1. How many times will you be asking this question? I keep seeing it pop up every couple of weeks.

2. Your teacher is not your friend, get over it.

3. Go find some real friends your own age and quit being stalker chick student.

You may be looking into it a little too much.

Another thing I was going to mention was that maybe its a teacher student thing she has to respect at the college. I had a similar situation happen but there was no actual hanging out or friendship. All I really did was ask for one personal advice on my career path...never got a reply. Another thing was when I left the state and would have to drop that class, I emailed the instructor and told him about what was happening and again I mentioned my career and asked for advice.

Strangely he never replied. I know he checks his emails...but I didn't think of it too much. I just figured maybe I crossed some type of line between student and teacher which doesn't it seem right to me lol.

Anyhoos, just give it time. You two have hung out before, it should be ok. Is she married? If so, her partner may not approve of his girl who just had a baby going out and what not.

best wishes

Most teacher/student relationships are best left at the school, and it seems that's what she's trying to do with you. She more than likely has her own circle of friends already and may feel no room for you or she may feel you have an infatuation with her.

She may want to be your friend, although not as deeply as you seem to want to do it. She may not be interested in your offer to help her with her baby. Your requests may be overwhelming to her. As you said, she is older than you so she may feel like she is taking on a friend that is to young to fit in to her lifestyle.

ok, first of all, she's a college teacher, and your how old? if your under 18 years of age, you shouldn't be hanging out with your college professor, first of all, second of all, if your OVER 18, and still acting like this, GOD HELP YOU!!!!

Sounds like more of an acquaintance than a friendship.

Are you over reacting or is it me who is so dense? A friend is a friend.
