I'm interested in volunteering for sideline officiating at local college football games. Does the college find these people or are they assigned by the officiating organization. I'm the Merrimack Valley area of Massachusetts.

I would talk to the coach or one of the officals and ask them how to get into something like that. They can probably tell you how it works.

They are paid NCAA officials...I don't think you can volunteer to referee...but you can volunteer for the particular college team...i.e. waterboy, headset wire follower for the coaches...*L*..., etc...
