These are usually the same people who complain that they can't afford to save for retirement, pay for their house/cars, pay bills, have no free-time, no vacations etc etc? Fill their lives with so much unnessary BS that you don't even need!!!
For example:
I was at Publix the other day (grocery store chain in the Southeast US) and this lady with four kids said to the cashier (typical woman to woman chit-chat), "I don't understand why our lives is so difficult. Me make a good income but we have no disposable income and constantly stressed out." Well she left and the cashier told me when I walked up and she said," I can't believe that lady has four kids and has the NERVES to wonder why her life is the way it is." I simply told she has more common sense then most Americans (this being a low-piad cashier mind you again).
Are some people so eager to conform to society's ways that they don't get care what the consequences are almost like being in an opium-induced state?????

During the old times when Native Americans lived on the plains, they would chase Buffalo.
The Buffalo, being rather stupid creatures, would look at their fellow Buffalo and being unable to think for themselves, would blindly follow what the others were doing.
Then all of the Buffalo would fall off a cliff and the Native people would enjoy a very good meal!
It seems that many Americans follow this same pattern of thinking, they look at their neighbours or (WORSE) look at the TV and magazine advertisements and see the pictures and feel that everyone is better than they are.
That's such a crock of BS of course!
If only today some people could live life daily as our grandparents and great-grandparents did, no electricity, no running water, just living to work and working to live......
Some people need such a reality check, don't they!!
Thanks for the 2 points!

Many people compartmentalize their problems, and they find it difficult to see the big picture and the way certain life choices impact others.
I've seen it too--the guy on the street who complains that, inexplicably (and most unfairly) his toe is constantly in pain. The guy is clearly in agony, and you would pity him if he were not standing there smashing said toe repeatedly with a large steel hammer.
The problem is that the average person, in his or her own life, cannot see the connection between the hammer and the toe. Ironically, they seem to be able to see other people's hammers. LOL

It's because they thrive on the drama, no matter what they say. They don't know how to not be a victim and are scared that if they aren't the victim that no one will pay attention to them. It's very sad.

Children learn from their parents and environment. Unfortunately, when they become adults, few learn how to break the negativity.
