Y!A Community Guidelines talks about that. But the strange thing is-no one would catch that person/those people doing that since giving thumbs up or down is anonymous.

That's pretty ridiculous and borders on absurdity...
Y!A would need to be mind-readers to know my reason for giving a thumbs-down, and whether or not I even HAD a reason.

Perhaps the only real, identifiable violation and associated penalty is the one that now lies within the devious mind of the person who gave the unjustified and unwarranted thumbs-down and who, from that moment on, will carry with him/her the heavy burden of guilt for his malicious, defamatory act toward an innocent human being for as long as he may live.

That sounds ridiculous. How can Yahoo possibly determine if a person had no reason to give a thumbs down? Last time I checked, they are not mind readers, unless Yahoo believes it has the right to think for us.

So the twits at Y!A think they know if I have a reason or not for giving someone thumbs down. I can see though if someone went through and gave everyone who answered thumbs down, but I don't see how they can catch them.

Really that's strange because sometimes you need to give a thumbs down because the answer is just that awful or sometimes people are compelled to give a thumbs down because they just don't agree with the answer.

How would one know if someone gave a thumbs down for no reason. Unless an explanation is required, I don't see how that's possible.

They want you to think it's anonymous. Trust no one.
