The "coolest thing in the whole world!" don't you find it interesting to seemingly stand in the middle and look to both sides and say to yourself, "now, let's see, do i want to take this side today or the other?" it's like "mind chess" without cheating! Well? isn/t it cool to have a duality going on? (no you are no crazy)Ha Ha Ha! The experience of "not" being single minded and having the advantage, even before a debate begins, awesome, isn't it? You are on your way... your not done yet...it's only the beginning! If headaches begin, contact me......lol.....lol

A lot of people who've gone a little into philosophy would say that the basic instinct of living things is not self-preservation, but self-exhaustion. Mentally or physically, having some sort of meaning to your actions is what you strive to do, and survival is a side-effect of that (this is why captive animals, upper-class individuals can suffer from depression regardless of the fact that they are surviving just fine).
That is why people with the mental ability to debate have the desire to debate. It's the same sort of idea. You have the ability to be entertained by mental stimulation, so you want to keep doing it. Much like runners achieve a 'runner's high' from running. They want to do it as often as possible.
It's simply human nature to want to do what you can.

You feel that you are open to all sides of a debate, and that nothing is blocking your full understanding of everything. You are constantly discovering new ways to understand things, which is probably where a lot of the pleasure comes from.
Of course, you have to make decisions about things, and well-informed decisions are one of the most satisfying things in life. You really feel like you've done the right thing.

I always think that the human brain is so complex that there is an endless amount of things that people find pleasureable
Also if you are good at it, if you constantly get good feedback (even from yourself) or feel like you did the right thing or succeeded, that will make you associate whatever you are doing with the pleasure of getting it right/doing well, etc...

With you, it seems to be all about the entertainment. As Ga noted, the intellectual is gourmet for the brain, yet if that were it, you would get bored. you always seem to need broader connection, so I would hazard a guess.. you enjoy people.
As much as you love to entertain people, you are entertained by them. debate and flirting, open discussion on your relationships..all vehicles for your love of connection.

It proves that you are an 'evolved' human being!! I feel the same way when I find an answer to a difficult question ... it's that "Eureka" sensation. And, dang, it does feel good!!!
It hits that part of your brain because you have trained it to... by concentrating on something that matters intensely to you.

It's not your brain, it's your mischief center. It's just bounding with the need to poke holes in those set parameters.
What are you going to do when you start debating w/yourself? Do you like swiss cheese?

It's because your synapses are firing on full thrusters.
When your brain's not being engaged or truly stimulated -- like when watching, say, Oprah -- you merely experience a quasi-comatose state of "mush mind." Ergo, no feelings of excitement or passion or creativity are engendered.
