Either your friend is lying or the video tape got tampered with. Or perhaps she's an accessory and the real culprit
some how avoided the camera and got away.
When you say you bound her, does that mean you tied her up? Bound means tied up/tie up- as in bound and gaged.
You say she has nobody, but she has you. Can't you help her? When a person gets in trouble and has nobody, that's unfortunate and irrelevant when it comes to, proving innocence. My adivse, is she tell the truth, and get an atttorney. I'm not sure how it is in Virginia, but generally
if a person can't afford an attorney, one gets appointed. But some times that appointed attorney can't be trusted. She could go to jail, yes. Unless she can prove her innocence.
I recommend that once the trial is over, if she's free, you and she leave the state and change her name. maybe you should change yours, too.

Not to be harsh, but they treated her like a criminal because she IS a criminal.
She will have to go to court, where she will have the option of pleading guilty or not guilty. If she pleads guilty or is convicted, she will probably have to do one or more of the following, depending on the amount that she stole: pay a fine, serve some jail time, do community service, get put on probation.
If she can't afford a lawyer, and there is a chance of jailtime, she can get a public defender.

More than likely no, if this is here first offense, they will probably make her pay for the items and ban here from the store, she could also be put on probation, it just all depends on what the judge charges her with, if she can't afford a lawyer she can always go to the public defender for help.

I decline to respond to on condition that it ought to incriminate me. LOL I did a pair cases in my youthful years and that i've got been given caught. I stole stupid stuff like scotch tape. It became lame. I have been given away with it a pair different cases yet I under no circumstances stole something of fee. i became a youthful dumb thief. i think of that taking something that doesn't belong to you is inaccurate. i'm satisfied I have been given caught. My dad had to pass right down to the police station and fetch me domicile. i became extra injury via his unhappiness than my getting caught.

you can't know what the court will decide, but no mater what they decide to do, it's not going to be a fun day for her.
