If you are changing the water regularly the metals and chlorine in it feels like burning in the fish's gills
Without a filter the fish is taking in nitrates and filth.
Without an air flow system the fish is not getting enough oxygen, but yeah sure it can go on for years like that.An under gravel filtration system is cheap and can be trimmed to size.It pulls faeces and toxins under the gravel and pumps in air you can get one with an air tube up through the middle if your bowl, then you wont need to clean it out as much. Also you should only replace some of the water and add de chlorinator. Then your fishes will be really happy.

it is more than big enough for 2 goldfish, but because it is not a proper fish tank/bowl the glass that it is made from probably wouldn't withstand the pressure that the water Will put on it, also if it has anything plant-wise in it i am sure that it would be contaminated with any sprays and/or fertiliser used on the plants. a tank that size would also need some sort of filter/airating system on it and i don't think that there is any suitable on the market (UK) for that odd shaped bowl.

No, that is unsuitable for the fish. You need to get a proper fishtank with a filtration system. Anything other than this is cruel.
Fish are living creatures - not pot plants. They can feel pain and experience suffering like any other animal.
Put some fruit in your bowl instead and find out more about fishkeeping before you buy any hapless creatures.

What a load of rubbish! You need a filtration system in order to keep the water healthy! Changing the water will only mean that you're exposing the fish to chlorine and metals which exist in the water!
None of you people know anything about keeping fish!

yes that's fine for another goldfish
Since you have that goldfish already since 12 years, you must be doing something right ;) good job

The filtration system is not at all necessary! It's generally used to help out the owner because it means you don't need to clean them out as often! Fish don't need vast amounts of room, just lots of things to explore and hide behind, even with their small memory! Hope that helps.
