how do I do this? Everytime I attempt to delete them by viewing them in 'My computer' I get the error message "Cannot delete (file name). Files on this CD are read only"

You can not delete a file from a CD-RW. Instead,you must reformat the entire disk.

Go into your windows explorer and find the files on your cd, then right click on them and choose properties, if it shows them as read only take the tick out of that and save it. Then you should be able to delete them.

If that does not work you will need to reformat the disk to use it again.

As I am not familiar with the divx extension I am not sure it will work but it works for other files types so it may for that as well.

You cant delete files in a cd or dvd using windows only.
Use nero then find click erase disc or similar feature in your cd/dvd burning software
