I know. The resolve to bring our troops home has been pathetic. It seems like it was a phony gesture.

They told the voters they were going to do things they simply can't do. They are way to the left of the average american, because they are trying to appease a base that has become increasingly radical. The Democrats didn't win for the reasons they thought they won, the same mistake the Republicans made after '04.
Either way I despise Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, who declared the surge in Iraq a failure, before all of the troops even arrived, braindead fools.

They have been hijacked by George Soro's and the far left money. Even the DLC (Democrat Leadership Council) has come out and said if they do not reverse the rapid disintegration of the base they will loose the 08.

Both parties are full of hot air at this point. The problem with the Democrats is that they made a bunch of promises to moderates, but they are trying to appeal to them along with their left leaning base. Seeing most Americans are moderate or slightly right leaning, its hard for them to appeal to their base and the center at the same time.

With a party that defines itself by the near fact that public sentiment is vital, you really don't need a spine just a good pollster

There's plenty of 'spinelessness' to go around.
Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were cowardly cretins intent on going to 'war' so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers could become wealthier and more powerful - at any cost, even the cost of human lives;
The most arrogant, contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Republican-led Congress in history stood by and turned its back while Bush ran rip shod over our U.S. Constitution, and violated terms of the UN Charter and the Geneva Convention, both to which the U.S. is a primary signatory;
The most arrogant, contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Democratic--led Congress in history promised to end this 'war' and - in eight months - has done nothing to keep their hollow promise after the people issued the mandate by electing them based on those promises.
So it's not just the Democrats who are spineless - it's the entire government leadership.
As the Dali Lama says: "The power of the gun is a sign of weakness." We are among the weakest nations on Earth, just like a school yard bully whose puffery and chest-pounding only lasts so long. Then those who he picks on finally join forces and defeat him. -RKO- 08/18/07

They are under the control of the "PC" spirit. They want, more than anything else, not to offend muslims or the USA hating nations of the world. They want to please the pacifists in their midst while they put the rest of us at risk.
Then again...maybe they are just plain dumb.
