Remove the spark plug and make sure no water is in the combustion chamber - Id change the oil to be safe.
Any water in the oil can cause the inside of the motor to rust . If anything, try to make sure the aircleaner is covered- thats the easiest way for water to get into the motor.

If it just got wet on the outside, no water got into the oil, etc. which is very likely the case, only rain and all, you are probably fine. just let it dry in the sun for a while and start it up, should be fine................ just keep it covered in the future as general good practice for the best life of the mower

The worst thing would be to get water into the gas tank. Take the fill cover off and with a flashlight look into the tank. Water will look like blobs on the bottom of the tank. You do not want to get this into the carburetor. If the tank is clear, start it up. It will be fine.
