We are here to: Advance God's evolutionary project and process. Especially regarding the good and evil dichotomy.

We are here to: Improve and enhance the 'relatedness' with women and men especially; and to be at peace with those of our tribe (read, belief system). And we are utterly failing.

We are here to: Develop as independent and whole person's; who realize that there is a God and that "I am NOT Him"... And we aren't doing very good at that task either.

We are here to: Learn of the 4th dimension and its laws; as well as how to connect and relate to it. And that is retarded and blocked too!

We are here to: Learn to accept this world and its conditions; versus denying or rebelling against it, by trying to master it, control it or manipulate it.

And, we are here to: Work to improve the 'human condition' and make the work 'humankind' more than an oxymoron. We haven't done this either.

I hope this give you 'food for thought'.

Action is the enemy of depression.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I often ask that question of myself and I too tend to be depressed. Some days are better than others. On a bad day, I try to remind myself of those small but significant daily wonders. These include indoor plumbing and ice makers when desperate. On a very bad day, I remind myself of who would be hurt if I were to no longer exist.

If I do one small nice thing for someone every day, then that is my reason to exist for that moment.

There are some nice Yahoo! groups that do things for people in need. I belong to Guardian Angels. You may want to look into that or some other group. (When writing this I had another good idea but by the time I had finished this one, I had forgotten the 2nd one - lol.)

Why are we here? Sometimes I believe it is one huge practical cosmic joke. Try to keep your sense of humor.

Good luck. If you need someone to "talk" to, I am mostly available on line.

We are sent here for a test and we will be rewarded for our deeds in the life hereafter. This is point of view of religion about life which we believe because it sounds logical and has not yet been proved wrong in spite of all scientific advancement. We will continue to accept it as true unless someone, who denies it, brings more convincing reasons and stronger arguments to prove religion's point of view as wrong.

Friend do it this way - that is,
whatever you do in life,
do the very best you can
with both your heart and mind.

And if you do it that way,
the Power Of The Universe
will come to your assistance,
if your heart and mind are in Unity.

When one sits in the Hoop Of The People,
one must be responsible because
All of Creation is related.
And the hurt of one is the hurt of all.
And the honor of one is the honor of all.
And whatever we do effects everything in the universe.

If you do it that way - that is,
if you truly join your heart and mind
as One - whatever you ask for,
that's the Way It's Going To Be.

~A very important quote from a very old Wise One~

Peace and Love to all

Hello, i don't know who thought up "the meaning in/of life" when in fact it's the "meanings" dude, it's plural, not singular. ha ha ha!! Everything around us is in the "plural" the whole world is "plural" open your eyes, and expand your mind a little, you will see what life is all about, "a lot of things" both independant and collective! and we are here to experience the plurality of our lives and the lives of others around us. yes, it's that simple. Don't try to make a complex thing out of something you are just beginning to dive into-the sea of life!

There is no reason we can ever understand except for being a part of the collective universe that is always moving (or so it seems). But I'm sure you didn't exepect anyone to provide you with a real reason, now did you?

Each of us comes here to experience "full aliveness." Remembering what that is - over the programmed belief system (ego) - is the challenge.
