So I just found out that for one, they are going to split the movie into two seperate DVDs, both costing $19.99, which is a bunch of crap, and if that isn't bad enough, they aren't including the fake movie trailors that were in the movie. I loved the movie when I saw it in theatre's, but one of the best things were the fake movie trailors. And the cheap sob's are going to sell them seperately to make double profit. I think it was a very bad choice to do that, as the bootleg theatrical version with both movies, and the fake movie trailors is going to be download about 50% more than it would have been, if not more than that. I guess I'll have to join in and download it, or just wait and hope they release a "double-feature" DVD that contains both movies and the trailors. I loved the movie, but I'm not paying $40 for only some of it, and not all of it. I thought Fox was cheap by splitting Family Guy seasons, but whoever split this in two are just a bunch of greedy bastards.

...I've already vented my wrath to the gods, via previous questions on Yahoo! Answers, and I'm glad to see that the word is getting around, either through myself, or through other people's venues; we, as TRUE fans of the TRUE version of "Grindhouse" can only hope that our outrage over this wretched situation will be heard...
...you know, I thought about perhaps picking up the separate releases of "Planet Terror" and "Death Proof", when I can get them cheap...perhaps used copies, but now that I think about it, I don't think that I want to even do that, as I would still only be succumbing to the ripoff...
...there's another point, too!!! The separate releases are supposed to be the uncut versions of the film, which were featured over in Europe and Asia...places where the 'grindhouse' experience is unknown; this means that the films probably won't have the scratches and audio & video jump cuts, and are supposed to included the 'missing reels', as indicated in the original theatrical release. As far as the so-called missing reels, for those of us who can fill in the blanks with our imaginations, do we REALLY need to see that stuff??? I can pretty much imagine what the 'missing reel' footage would have looked like. Why couldn't the producers over at Dimension make like the 'missing reel' footage was something of cinematic urban legend, and then a couple of years later, release their special edition, claiming that the 'lost footage' was found in some dusty old vault, or on some grimy cutting room floor???
...with the right promotional and advertising ploy, this might have actually worked much better than what their planning on doing now...not to mention the fact that they are out-and-out depraving the TRUE fans of the TRUE version of "Grindhouse"...the greedy bastards!!!
It is perfectly clear that although the filmmakers definately had the 'grindhouse' attitude, when they made "Grindhouse", the producers over at Dimension clearly have little-to-no conception what the 'grindhouse experience' is, and have in fact, always had a much different priority in mind...the kind of priority with dollar signs....
Shame on you, Dimension...SHAME ON YOU!!!!

They are probably going to release them both together in a year or so. They always do that, they release the movie and then a few months later they release a different version with more content, so that you have to buy the movie again.

For one, about the only thing I liked about the flick was the Tarantino-penned dialogue. Secondly, so many other people disliked the film and said so that it didn't come close to reaching its projected box office numbers, and they're therefore hoping to make up ground off of the wallets of those who actually enjoyed it by putting out two DVDs. Shameless, yes. Effective, likely.
