why can't the world be one country with somebody like Abrham Licoln as president or king? We could have states and stuff that ae just like America and England. That way we wouldn't have war and terrorism because the president woud not allow it.

We have United Nations and what good does that do?

When we, as the inhabitants of this planet, share common believes and philosophies, (and we certainly don't now) when we are educated in our own history and look back at it in horror and regret, when the people of this world, in general, are independent enough to govern themselves, then there will be peace on this planet. No government will accomplish it. No government has made any such attempt, especially England and certainly not the US, I am sorry to admit.

World government will be opposed by everyone who will not have the voice they want in it. Forced world government, which is the course the U.S. currently seems to be on, will only result in a World War against everyone who would oppose global U.S. rule, and that currently includes ... everyone outside Washington D.C. and Neocon Think Tanks.

you have asked the very good question and i will tell my views on your question and it will not be a answer because this question itself is a unsolved puzzle.

As God has created humans equally in social aspects,in the sense that every one were from same soul.but different in economic backgrounds, as we cannot create economic equality. The problem among us is that we are different from each others in economic and social backgrounds, culture, social set up or other things, in fact we are not able to create one people even internally , how can we create externally the one country one people. But the view is as great as Himalayas. The thing that we should look is that each and every one in the world should considered then as humans and everyone were the humans, if we consider these and have a warm welcome and humanity among each others then there will not be any war or other social threats, in fact the social and economic justice should be maintained. Maintaining peace is in our hands. We should join our hands as we are all the sons of Adam and Eve. We are all humans and the discriminations should be avoided. If we do this there will not be a crisis.

so you think if we were one world, the president would be able to stop people from fighting? nice thought, but it will never ever happen. We are not dealing with civilized civilizations in all corners of the world like they have in Europe or America. Third world countries would always be a problem.

The world can only, but this can never be possible.
The world has degenerated too far for that. Look at religious pollution, racial and ethnic sentiments, class consciousness etc.
No man can put such things right. Not even those men you mentioned.
Have you ever wondered what they would have been like living in our world today?
Certainly, most men is a product of his environment.

Typical superior power mentality. How sure can you be regarding the President of the U.S. being the leader of planet Earth ? At this moment in time, very few people would want Bush to be the leader of the world.

You mean like Rodney King said, "Why can't we all get along?"
We have an internal need it appears to struggle or fight rather than get along. I am actually sick of our sytem pitting one party against the other rather than issue by issue.
We need a serious renovation in our poltical system. No party is all right or all wrong but to stand on the other's shoulder to be tall is not correct.

I don't think even this moronic president we have now will allow it, its just that there is no rational way to determine who will do it and go get them while they are in their cradle.
War is the natural way of men, its dumb but that's the way its been since the beginning of men picking up a tree branch and braining one another.

Your country (assuming you are American, forgive the assumption if your are not) cannot be one nation because in essence it remains divided ever since the American Civil war - there are inherent divisions within American society and politics and there will continue to be these divisions until America rips itself to pieces.
