Go to college. After you graduate, you can always become an electrician if thats still what you want to do. But you also gain the experience and skills necessary to do other things if you should decide down the road that being an electrician isn't for you.

Plus, no matter what job you want these days, employers like to see that you have some sort of college degree. Even the simplest jobs which wouldn't require such a degree 30 years ago are now changing. It's always good to have that degree stashed away because sooner or later, someone's going to want to see it.

In the short run you can make a decent living as an electrician. In the long run you will make a lot more as a college graduate and can continue working even as you get older since it is not as physical as a trade.

I have seen people with degrees working in McDonald's, but never an electrician. Don't get me wrong, an education is always a good thing to have, but money makes the world go around.
