It seldom makes a real difference.
Any water which does not contain active pathogens or toxic substances is perfectly okay. This is in terms of immediate biological health (what your cells will need and use).
Here are the other factors involved:
Mineral water may contain some minerals which although are not toxic, may put the body or kidneys under more stress if taken in extremely large amounts. They might also give the water an unpleasant taste or odor. This may be natural water, but this does not make it better.
Tap water is usually analyzed and is therefore safer than many other sources. It does, however contain chlorine and/or other chemicals which can effect the body. In reasonable amounts, these are easily eliminated. Tap water can always be filtered or allowed to set at room temp before use to help lessen the chlorine content. Aeration can improve taste.
Distilled water is the most far from being isotonic with body fluids. It also requires energy to process. The effect of this additional energy use should be taken into account for the overall health of the human species and other life forms. It also must be transported (unless drank from a personal still.
Any bottled water must be transported and the cost (financial and environmental) must be added to the overall picture. Many of the bottles, especially plastic ones, have dire consequences for the environment.
Madison Avenue will convince most people to spent their money on a solution which makes others richer. If the money spent on bottled water and filter systems in the United States was spent on the public water systems instead, more people would get healthier water for less money.

Many seem uneducated about this topic and and fall for the propaganda they read online pfft. Distilled water is actually great for your liver and kidneys, leaves no trace of minerals, and leaches all of the INORGANIC minerals from your body like an antioxidant. A cup a day is beneficial for the health. I drink a warm glass with a little lemon juice. Im as healthy as an Ox.

Distilled water is tasteless and not palatable. Drinking it too much can cause a deficiency in necessary minerals.
Mineral water generally has the required amounts of these minerals and is by far the better water to drink.
Ordinary tap (faucet) water is usually produced to the required, safe standards.

Distilled water will always be clean, but it contains nothing useful for you. Mineral water will have been filtered and cleaned, but still contain all sorts of useful minerals and ions. Don't drink too much or they might turn harmful though - too much flourine could end up causing problems. As long as you live in a developed country, your tap water should be fine really.

Tap water is best (except in some of the developing countries). In north America, tap water has fluoride added to it which is missing in distilled or bottled water.

distilled water have undergone alot of process of cleaning and filtration that's how clean it is... and on the other hand the mineral water is also clean.... the difference is the mineral water still has its mineral content in it... that's why its called mineral water... if you're health conscious you'd choose mineral water..

Mineral. But distilled has all the salt away from it so, either will do, no difference.
