What would cause that sound when I go down stairs? sounds like a box of stick matches in my pocket?

I can only hear it when I go down stairs , not when I run up them, not while I am walking or running

Are you wearing corduroy by any chance?

Is there a manufacturer's or laundry tag in the pocket?

If not, remove the matches from your pocket! ;)
