The tree would fall with a thundering crash, killing the chicken and breaking the egg in the process....all happening simultaneously...and some O.F. in town will say 'did you hear that???
Afterwords, Tonto says to the Lone Ranger "Hummmm! Dynamite stuff, kemosabe...let me take another hit from the peace pipe!"

Yes, it could well end up having a meaning in life since we can never fathom where all any cause impacts through the chain reactions. However, it may not alter the truth of which came first, whether chicken or egg, but who can know for sure, it may well alter our understanding of that issue through some unfathomable chain of events caused by the fall of the tree!! A philosopher must not consider anything insignificant or irrelevant in this colossal of cause and effect chain that this universe ruled by time implies.
Interesting question to answer... thanks.

earlier a wind hurricane, pass into the wooded area and detect a tree that the wind ought to knock over. place a tape recorder there that's activated via the falling of the tree. After the hurricane return and play the sound. you will possibly have the respond.

it means a tree fell and thats it. if you were there you would have heard it. just because you were not does not mean it did not make a sound how rediculous that old saying. if a bomb goes off in the desert does it make a sound because you were not there? I dont care what came first chickens lay eggs and I eat them for breakfast and eat chicken for supper.

I think so because even if no one was around and let's say the tree fell across a river and ended up damming it, then people in a village miles away might not get water, and then die. Even when we don't witness events they can still affect us.

with no person around there would still be a meaning to it and a reaction by the world around it. human beings aren't all that special we create things like meaning to explain our actions which are quite simple in the first light.
