yes. anytime you offer up your personal info to anybody thats what they do with it they track your purchases and send you offers and sell your info to others. People are way to generous and trusting to give out personal info.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I think they track everything we do, say, where we walk in the store, where we go first, last, how we browse, everything. They even put scents in the air that trigger us to want to use the bathroom so that we must walk all the way through the store. There are many ways to manipulate a customer, track a customer and use that information to increase sales and profits.

They do record it all, and can look at it in detail if there is any reason to. For the most part, they use it for statistical purposes, to know what is happening in a particular area rather than with a particular person.
A few years back, a large Pittsburgh chain (you mention Pittsburgh) used to send out mailings of coupons customized to the person's purchasing history - you haven't seen those lately, have you? Sometimes there's just too much data to be useful.

they may not track individuals and their purchases, but probably they keep track of what sells better and what doesn't sell. they don't need to carry merchandise that no one will buy.
