Question are you trying to breed your beta. If you are I would suggest that you wait and watch your male. Make sure that you remove your female from the tank or perhaps put a divider in that separates them. This would allow the male to see the female but still protect the female until the male is ready to breed. Beta's are bubble nest breeders. The male is the one that builds the nest. When you see him start to blow bubbles at the top of the water, this would indicate that he is getting ready to breed. Once you are sure that you beta is ready to breed, reintroduce the female into his side of the tank. Allow breeding, then remove the female. If you don't remove the female the male could kill while trying to protect the nest since that it is the male that takes care of the babies.
