Enviro friendly air cleaner,You will need,,
1 orange
1 or 2 packets of cloves.
Take the cloves and start to stab them into the orange ,they will slide in up to the little head on the top of the clove.
Keep doing this until you cant see any of the orange peel,it should be totally covered in cloves.
The cloves will preserve the orange and the orange will preserve the cloves. It will smell beautiful and last for years and years. Not bad for around a $1.00..

I would suggest emptying your closet to reduce the chances of odors clinging to your stuff
Second I would recommend plain old soap and water mixed with some nice smelling detergent & about a cup of vinegar - use a soft brush and scrub it into the carpet, then wash it off with plain water and then vacuum after it's dried - last but not least, febreeze the room and let sit for 24 hours, when returning your clothes in the closet, make sure that you sprinkle a little bit of dry mint leaves here and there in corners to reduce the chances of recurring smells.
In an empty closet the air has more room to circulate and the vacuum also recycles the air a little bit with the force of it's suction, which is why I suggest letting the room sit with occassional checks and febreeze sprays every few hours..
Hope this helps!

Unmark your pet's spots
When housebreaking a puppy or kitten, it'll often wet previously soiled spots. After cleaning up the mess, it's essential to remove the scent from your floor, carpeting, or sofa. And nothing does that better than vinegar:
On a floor, blot up as much of the stain as possible. Then mop with equal parts white vinegar and warm water. (On a wood or vinyl floor, test a few drops of vinegar in an inconspicuous area to make sure it won't harm the finish.) Dry with a cloth or paper towel.
For carpets, rugs, and upholstery, thoroughly blot the area with a towel or some rags. Then pour a bit of undiluted vinegar over the spot. Blot it up with a towel, then reapply the vinegar-let it air-dry. Once the vinegar dries, the spot should be completely deodorized.
Good Luck !

Oh yuck ! I would tear out the carpet if I were you.... Then empty your closet and wash the walls/floor down with vinegar.. That should get rid of the problem... Then get an old margarine container put baking soda w/ some essential oil's you like in it and leave it in the closet it will absorb foul odors and leave you closet smelling better than cat poop... Put a cork in the cat's bum !

If your cat pooped there, he/she probably sprayed there, also, to mark his/her territory, as cats do. If it is carpet, we're talking about, you may want to take the carpet out and replace it with a new or different piece. Or just scrub the floor and leave it without carpet. This may cost a little more, but you can go to a carpet store and buy remnants of carpeting very cheap.

In the end you will probably have to take the carpet out of the closet. I always used vinegar to clean up after my pets when they made a mistake.

There are inexpensive odor adsorbing canisters (typically about 5 to 10 dollars) you can get the grocery store or other stores that you can place in areas such as that and they will help absorb the offending odor. Read the directions on the canister, but they are real simple to use and work real well.
